Excessive cell phone use and its implications for academic performance in engineering students
The cell phone is a device that has been considered the means of communication par excellence among students, its prolonged use is developing aspects such as addiction, anxiety, changes in the social and personal activity of young people, causing different effects on their academic performance, that is why the present investigation was carried out with the desire to know some aspects that they can report and recognize.A survey was applied to Engineering students [Cronbach's Alpha 0.926], and variance and correlation analyses were performed, finding that the highest proportion of responses adheres to the denial or non-acceptance of any negative impact on their learning, some of the analyses, although not explicitly, visualize that they recognize excessive use of the cell phone, which affects their academic and personal life and that they could improve their academic performance if they reduced the use of this electronic equipment.
