Modeling Drug-Induced Hemorrhage in Zebrafish Larva
Source: Crilly, S., et al. Using zebrafish larvae to study the pathological consequences of hemorrhagic stroke. J. Vis. Exp. (2019) In this video, fertilized zebrafish embryos are dechorionated under a stereo microscope and then exposed to a cholesterol synthesis inhibitor, leading to the development of blood vessel ruptures and brain hemorrhages in the larvae. Hemorrhagic larvae, identifiable by distinct red spots, are subsequently separated under a microscope for further analysis.
