Research on Innovative Application of 3D Scanner in Motorcycle Design and Development Process
This study focuses on the deep involvement of 3D scanners in the full process development of conceptual motorcycle design and development. It provides a detailed introduction on how to improve the efficiency of motorcycle research and development through 3D scanners. By using 3D scanners to obtain 3D scans of key motorcycle components, virtual assembly of the entire motorcycle's 3D data can be achieved, which to some extent improves the accuracy of design and the consistency of assembly; By scanning the exterior clay mold of the motorcycle in 3D, the obtained appearance model data is adjusted and optimized in 3D software to improve the design cycle of appearance modeling. After completing the virtual assembly of relevant data in 3D design software, it is necessary to make the physical components of the relevant parts, and use CNC machining, welding and other processes to build the layout of the vehicle. During the process of building the prototype vehicle, a 3D scanner is used to scan the corresponding structural layout, compare and analyze it with the virtual 3D assembly data, ensure that the relevant data is consistent with the theoretical 3D data, and ensure the testing of the vehicle assembly in the later stage; Based on practical case analysis, the participation of 3D scanners in motorcycle design and development can greatly improve design efficiency, reduce trial and error costs, and enhance product competitiveness, all of which can achieve significant results. This provides technical support and practical experience for the innovative development of the motorcycle industry in the Greater Bay Area.
