Research on the Interactive Relationship between Digital Economic Development Level and High-Quality Economic Development Level in Guangdong Province

The paper makes a comprehensive evaluation of digital economy development level (DEL) and high-quality economic development level (HQL) by using entropy method in 21 prefecture-level cities in Guangdong Province, which is based on the panel data of 21 prefecture-level cities in Guangdong Province from 2013 to 2022. Moreover, this paper employs the panel vector autoregression (PVAR) model to study the interactive influence relationship between digital economy development level (DEL) and high-quality economic development level (HQL). This paper draws some conclusions, which are as follows: (i) The general trend of DEL and HQL in Guangdong Province and 21 prefecture-level cities is developing steadily and upward. (ii) There is an obvious regional imbalance in the DEL and HQL in Guangdong Province. (iii) The DEL is not the Granger cause of HQL, but HQL is the Granger cause of DEL. There is a positive impulse response relationship between HQL and DEL. The impact of HQL on the DEL is relatively less pronounced, but it is quite remarkable that DEL has an impact on the HQL.
