Exploration of an AI-driven Approach to Age-friendly Indoor Space Layout

With the aggravation of the global aging problem, aging at home has become an important issue for the society, and the design of ageing-appropriate indoor space is particularly important. The design of indoor space not only needs to consider comfort and functionality, but also should ensure that the elderly can live in a safe and convenient environment. Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, with its advantages in data processing and optimization, provides innovative solutions for the design of age-friendly interior spaces. This paper discusses the AI-based optimization design method for age-friendly indoor spaces, focusing on the application of AI in indoor space layout, data modeling and intelligent optimization algorithms. Through the combination of data acquisition and preprocessing, spatial data modeling, and intelligent algorithms, this paper proposes an AI-driven indoor space layout optimization method, aiming to improve the functionality, comfort and accessibility of the space. Through case studies, this paper verifies the effectiveness of the method in actual design and demonstrates the potential of AI to be widely applied in age-appropriate indoor space design. The study shows that AI technology can effectively improve the quality of ageing-friendly indoor space design and provide a more intelligent and comfortable living environment for the elderly.
