Measurement of contribution of digital economy to New Quality Productive Forces in Guangdong Province based on benchmark regression model

In this study, a quantitative evaluation index system for the development of the digital economy in Guangdong Province and an evaluation index system for the New Quality Productive Forces were established using the panel data of Guangdong Province from 2014 to 2023. Through the benchmark regression model, STATA software was used to empirically analyse the contribution of digital economy to the New Quality Productive Forces in Guangdong Province. The empirical results show that the digital economy has a significant positive effect on the improvement of the new quality productive forces in Guangdong Province. Further analysis shows that the digital economy accelerates with the help of scientific and technological innovation and effectively promotes the improvement of new quality productive forces. In addition, the study also reveals the regional differences in the driving effect of the digital economy, especially in the Pearl River Delta region, this effect is more significant. These studies not only provide the theoretical basis and practical way for the high-quality development of the digital economy in Guangdong Province, but also provide reference and inspiration for promoting the common development of the digital economy and new quality productive forces throughout the country.
