Research on the Protection of Lingnan Architectural Cultural Heritage Based on Digital Technology
With the acceleration of urbanization, Lingnan architectural cultural heritage is facing unprecedented protection challenges, and traditional protection methods have shown limitations. This study, based on a multi-dimensional framework of “technology-object-function”, systematically explores the innovative application paths of digital technology in the protection of Lingnan architecture. Firstly, it analyzes the spatial distribution characteristics of Lingnan architecture, such as the “one core and three belts”, and its typical features like the climate-adaptive construction and the “three carvings, one sculpture, and one painting” decorative system. Secondly, by constructing a spatial database based on GIS, it reveals the spatial heterogeneity of the architectural group and the environmental response patterns. Thirdly, it uses BIM technology to achieve parametric modeling from the macroscopic spatial pattern to the microscopic components, especially developing adaptive feature extraction algorithms for regional characteristic components such as the “wok-ear wall” and “gray sculpture”. Finally, it integrates and constructs a “four-layer and three-drive” (data-technology-application-service, policy-technology-social drive) digital protection system. This study provides a systematic methodology and technical framework for the protection of regional architectural cultural heritage supported by digital technology.
