Crafting Inclusive Interfaces in HCI and HRI
User interfaces (UIs) are a critical component of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). They serve as the medium through which users communicate and interact with computer systems, making the design and implementation of UIs essential for effective and efficient HCI. Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) are related fields but differ in focus, goals, and challenges. In this paper, the focus is on exploiting knowledge from HCI and HRI research while finding strategies that might enhance the usability of user interfaces designed for all users. In HRI, it is crucial to keep in mind the robot's special skills and constraints during the procedure, in addition to the surroundings in which it will be employed. Designing user interfaces for robots involves unique considerations to ensure effective interaction between humans and robotic systems. This field, known as Human-Robot Interaction (HRI), requires a blend of usability, safety, and efficiency. Working together, designers, developers, and other stakeholders may produce user interfaces that are compelling, effective, and easy to use.
