Teachers’ Professional Quality of Life within the Context of ConceptualFrameworks and Developmental Trends

The professional quality of life of teachers represents a significant theme in the contemporary educational system, as it affects not only teachers’ occupational well-being but also the overall quality of education and the stability of school environments. This theoretical article aims to introduce the concept of professional quality of life within the context of educational sciences, to trace its historical development, and to analyze the main QWL models that are relevant to the teaching profession. Particular attention is given to how these models are reflected in the specific nature of teaching work and to the limitations of the current Czech approach to this issue. Drawing on a critical analysis of both domestic and international literature, the article proposes an original conceptual framework of QWL for teachers, reflecting material, relational, existential, and value-based dimensions. The conclusion discusses directions for future research and the potential application of this framework in practice and educational policy.
