STRATEGIES FOR IMPROVING SUSTAINABLE FOOD SECURITY AND POVERTY ALLEVIATION IN INDRAMAYU DISTRICT

Sustainable food security and poverty alleviation are two main challenges in Indramayu Regency, an areaknown as a national rice barn but still facing high poverty rates and food insecurity. This research aimsto formulate ef ective strategies in increasing sustainable food security while reducing poverty. Thisresearch includes strengthening local agricultural capacity, diversifying farmers' sources of income, andincreasing access to markets and technology. The analysis method of this study uses a qualitativedescriptive method that studies the status of a group of people, objects, conditions, thoughts, or currentevents. The results of this study show that the Indramayu Regency government has succeeded incompiling and implementing many programs related to food security and poverty, but this still needs to befurther improved and there needs to be cooperation between the government, the private sector and thecommunity.
