Perfil renal y su variabilidad en la diabetes mellitus y anemia en pacientes adultos de un laboratorio privado de Jipijapa

The renal profile is a key diagnostic tool for assessing renal function using markers such as urea and creatinine, especially in patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes mellitus and anemia. The aim of this study was to demonstrate the renal profile and its variability in diabetes mellitus and anemia in adult patients at a private laboratory in Jipijapa. A descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional, and non-experimental design was used, based on the analysis of clinical records of 380 patients. The results showed that 32.6% of patients had hyperglycemia, and 56.1% had anemia, which was more prevalent in men. Regarding the renal profile, most patients had normal urea and creatinine levels, although abnormalities were detected in approximately one-fifth of cases. Pearson's correlation coefficients (r = 0.841 in diabetes and r = 0.845 in anemia) did not show a statistically significant relationship between renal abnormalities and these pathologies. It is concluded that, although there is a considerable frequency of renal alterations, these are not significantly associated with the presence of diabetes mellitus or anemia, nor are they significantly influenced by the patient's sex.
