Research on the Revitalization Path of Urban Historic Districts in the Context of Cultural and Tourism Integration

Urban historic districts, as important carriers of cultural heritage, face the contradiction between protection and development in the context of cultural and tourism integration, yet they hold enormous potential for revitalization. Currently, historic districts often suffer from issues such as damaged architectural styles, homogenized tourism products, outdated infrastructure, and insufficient resident participation. Based on cultural capital theory, experience economy theory, and sustainable development theory, this paper proposes revitalization paths including the improvement of policy systems, innovation in development models, strengthening cultural heritage transmission, creating a tourist-friendly environment, and promoting multi-party cooperation. Practice shows that through community co-governance, cultural creative development, new media promotion, and collaboration between government, enterprises, and academia, the balance between protection and development can be effectively achieved, and the attractiveness of historic districts can be enhanced. In the future, strengthening policy support, expanding financing channels, and cultivating professional talents are necessary to realize the sustainable development of historic districts.
