This article addresses the challenges and perspectives related to the training of teachers who work in the Brazilian prison system. Education in prisons is a right guaranteed by the Federal Constitution and the Penal Execution Law (LEP), being a crucial instrument for resocialization. However, professionals working in this environment face significant challenges, which include structural issues and a lack of policies aimed at teacher training. The objective of this study is to analyze the challenges and possibilities related to the initial and continuing training of educators who work in this environment. This study is based on a bibliographical review and theoretical analysis, proposing paths for the initial and continuing training of teachers and highlighting the importance of public policies that promote transformative and inclusive education.
