A Study on the Perception of Virtual Idols Concerts Among Adolescents in Inner Mongolia, China
Virtual idol concerts have emerged as a new form of content through the convergence of digital technology and popular culture, attracting significant social and industrial interest, especially in light of changes in youth cultural consumption patterns. The demand for non-face-to-face content has surged following the COVID-19 pandemic, positioning virtual idol concerts as a promising growth driver in the entertainment industry, with the market rapidly expanding.Although the virtual idol concert market is currently in its nascent stage, it is expected to become a pivotal component of the entertainment sector. This study investigates the purchase intentions, payment capabilities, and key factors influencing purchasing decisions related to virtual idol concerts among adolescents in the Inner Mongolia region of China. The findings reveal that despite high awareness of virtual idols, actual concert participation rates remain low, indicating a lack of environmental and institutional support for the virtual idol concert market in the region. To stimulate the virtual idol concert market in this area, consider infrastructure development such as performance venues, offering real-time interactions and merchandise packages, and providing additional benefits like ticket discounts. In the context of governmental policy environments aimed at advancing the virtual technology market, these improvements are anticipated to invigorate cultural content, such as virtual idol concerts, in the region.
