Clinical Effect of Platelet-Rich Plasma Collaborative Care Intervention on Early-Term Knee OA
(P Objective: Through an in-depth study of the mechanism and effects of PRP combined with nursing interventions, valuable insights and guidance can be provided for future treatment of osteoarthritis. Method: A total of 61 patients with knee osteoarthritis who visited our hospital from March 2022 to February 2023 were selected. They were divided into two groups based on different nursing methods: a control group of 30 patients and an observation group of 31 patients, including 15 males and 16 females, with an average age of (48.09 ± 19.22) years. The control group received PRP combined with routine nursing care, while the observation group received PRP combined with nursing intervention measures. Patient demographics and medical history were recorded, and treatment outcomes were compared using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS), Short Form-36 (SF-36), Newcastle Satisfaction with Nursing Scale (NSNS), Hospital for Special Surgery Knee Score (HSS), Lysholm score, and other assessments to evaluate treatment effectiveness. Results: 1) Demographics: There were no statistically significant differences (P > 0.05) between the two groups in terms of age, gender, body mass index, affected limb, medical history (hypertension, diabetes, coronary heart disease, endocrine disorders), smoking history, and alcohol consumption. 2) Main outcomes after treatment: Before treatment, there were no statistically significant differences (P > 0.05) in VAS, SF-36, NSNS, and HSS scores between the two groups. However, after 1, 6, and 12 months of follow-up, there were statistically significant differences (P 0.05), but after treatment, there were significant differences (P < 0.05) in the Lysholm scores. The total effective rate in the observation group [93.50% (29/31)] was higher than that in the control group [70% (21/30)], with statistical significance (P < 0.05). Conclusion: PRP combined with nursing interventions can effectively alleviate clinical symptoms of pain, reduced mobility, and aggravated knee osteoarthritis in early to mid-stage KOA patients, demonstrating good clinical outcomes and a certain level of effectiveness and safety in bone tissue repair. Patients’ quality of life and satisfaction have also improved.
