Bioefficacy of combination product of flubendiamide and deltamethrin to manage okra jassids and fruit borer

AbstractBioefficacy of a combination product of flubendiamide and deltamethrin against insect pests of okra was evaluated. The study comprised of treatments viz, flubendiamide 90 + deltamethrin 60 SC @ 22.5 + 15, 36 + 24 and 72 + 48 g ai ha-1, flubendiamide 480 SC @ 36 g ai ha-1, deltamethrin 100 EC @ 24 g ai ha-1 and imidacloprid 17.8 SL @ 20 g ai ha-1. Among the treatments, imidacloprid 17.8 SL @ 20 g ai ha-1 was found most effective against okra jassids, Amrasca biguttula biguttula (Ishida) followed by flubendiamide 90 + deltamethrin 60 SC @ 72 + 48 and 36 + 24 g ai ha-1. In case of fruit borer (Helicoverpa armigera Hubner), flubendiamide 90 + deltamethrin 60 SC @ 72 + 48 g ai ha-1 was the most effective treatment followed by flubendiamide 90 + deltamethrin 60 SC @ 36 + 24 and 22.5 + 15 g ai ha-1. However, minimum fruit damage was observed with flubendiamide 90 + deltamethrin 60 SC @ 72 + 48 g ai ha-1 which was found statistically at par with flubendiamide 90 + deltamethrin 60 SC @ 36 + 24 g ai ha-1. Three foliar applications of combination product at standard and double dose did not show any phytotoxic symptoms and no significant effect of the treatments was noticed on coccinellid beetles.
