Evaluation of novel indazolylchromones for management of fungal diseases in tomato

AbstractTwo potent compounds, 6f (2-Indazol-1-yl-7-butoxy chromen-4-one) and 6t (2-Indazol-1-yl-7-methyl-6chlorochromen-4-one) were evaluated against Sclerotium rolfsii and Fusarium oxysporum. In vivo results showed that compounds 6t and 6f successfully controlled the Sclerotium rolfsii at 1000 ppm, with percent disease index (PDI) values of 26.7% and 30%, respectively. Both compounds performed at par to the commercial fungicide hexaconazole 5 SC (PDI 25%). In case of Fusarium oxysporum, compound 6f was found less effective, showing a PDI of 35% as compared to the commercial fungicide carbendazim 50% WP (PDI 24%). Thus, the suitable formulation of compounds 6t and 6f need to be developed for management of Sclerotium rolfsii in field conditions.
