Education is a means of social change and development when there are conditions for peaceful delivery. Encounters that are not sound for peaceful educational implementation lead to failure because both the human and other supportive resources and workable bases become stagnant. Lack of stability also leads to destructive actions which jeopardize both educational and social man stay. In relation to the backwash effects of war and violence on education and societal development in Africa, this article substantiates the nature of civil conflicts. It focuses on ways toward solution-seeking with the aim to transform conflict-handling in a constructive manner. In order to guide the survey, systematic desk-review was made on existing research works and seasonal reflections on conflict-based events their consequences. For that purpose, contextual discourse analysis with the criterion-sampling method was used. The overriding mission was to recommend possible means of handling conflict situations through education, thereby to ransom both the society and its education from stagnancy.
