Can ZnO transform Cavity-QED?

We grow ZnO thin films and measure their optical absorption by ring-down spectroscopy. At 1650 nm we observe a 22,000 finesse in a Fabry-Pérot optical cavity incorporating one 30 nm ZnO-coated layer with 10 mΩ · cm surface resistivity.

Abstract

We grow ZnO thin films and measure their optical absorption by ring-down spectroscopy. At 1650 nm we observe a 22,000 finesse in a Fabry-Pérot optical cavity incorporating one 30 nm ZnO-coated layer with 10 mΩ · cm surface resistivity.
