Chiral calamitic organosiloxane liquid crystals with tunable properties

A novel chiral liquid crystal series with siloxane-bridged dimers was synthesized, where subtle structural tweaks—such as linker orientation and siloxane spacing—greatly enhanced mesophase stability, enabling broad, stable SmC* and N* phases.
