Human-computer interaction (HCI): Designing intuitive interfaces for AI systems
The infusion of Artificial Intelligence into everyday technologies has brought much emphasis on Human-Computer Interaction in the design of intuitive interfaces that satisfy the needs of the user. This paper deliberates the principles and practices required to develop accessible AI systems as transparent and friendly towards the user. It further explores how HCI frameworks lead to reducing user frustration, increasing user trust, and enhancing the adoption rate. Major emphasis is put on the areas of how XAI may impact user trust, difficulties in the design of diverse user interfaces, and novel trends of multimodal interaction and adaptive interfaces. The use of case studies and analysis indicates innovative strategies of design and outlines guidelines for further HCI development within AI systems. The studies try to bridge the gap between AI systems' capabilities and the expectations of everyday users, toward developing effective yet approachable AI technologies for the masses of the world.
