Development of a Tunneling Magneto-Resistance Sensor Based Orientation Detection System for Robotic Manipulator

This paper presents an efficient signal conditioning circuit for double stack Tunneling Magneto-Resistance based angle sensor in context of robotic application utilization. Such magnetic sensors are perfect for real-time orientation monitoring since they have a high sensitivity, low power consumption, and improved accuracy in detecting magnetic fields. A signal conditioning circuit is also proposed that quantizes error and facilitates precise joint angle measurement of robotic manipulators. To measure the offsets connected to the outputs of the double stack tunneling magneto-resistance sensor, a direct digital circuit is developed. Through simulation and experimental tests, the scheme’s performance is evaluated and confirmed with 0.03 % error.
