An ECC based Secure Surveillance Video Data Access Control from Cloud Framework
Recently, to maintain the security of society, both the common people and organizations are taking the help of video surveillance cameras to capture 24 × 7 manner of continuous activities/incidents that are occurring surrounding them. In general, the captured video surveillance data is found in large volumes, so the captured video data is preferred to be stored in the cloud. Subsequently, data security is one of the main concerns once the data is stored in the cloud. In this paper, we have suggested a framework to store secure surveillance video data in the cloud. At a later stage, only the legitimate user may be allowed to access the data once the user is validated through a cryptographic mechanism. Here, we have suggested an Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC)-based authentication process to validate the users, which is in nature of three-factor. A shared session key is established among all involved entities so that the data can be stored securely in the cloud, and subsequently, the data can be accessible only to genuine users. The presented surveillance video data access mechanism is secure and validated by formal and informal security analysis. The Scyther simulations ensure the proposed scheme is safe even in real time.
