Anonymous Mutual Authentication and Key Agreement Scheme in Edge-enabled Wireless Body Area Networks
Wireless body area networks (WBAN) is integrated with cloud and edge computing to provide successful remote monitoring. However, cloud-enabled WBAN does not provide real-time services due to critical issue of high latency and Other security solutions may not be applicable to WBANs due to resource constrained networks. Edge-enabled WBAN, an extension of cloud computing is an efficient solution to the aforementioned issue of high latency in cloud computing model. WBANs are also exposed to variety of cryptographic attacks due to limited computational resources. Several authentication approaches have been presented in recent years to address the security issues in WBANs. However, most authentication schemes are inefficient and insecure. Therefore, in this study, a secure authentication and key agreement scheme based on lightweight cryptographic primitives is designed in Edgeenabled WBAN. The security analysis using AVISPA simulation and performance evaluation demonstrate that the proposed scheme offers superior security compared to related schemes.
