Impact of deregulation on market efficiency and quality of services in the electricity sector - perfect competition vs regulated monopolist
The process of deregulation of the electric power sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina will result in the introduction of market competition, which will significantly affect the improvement of efficiency and quality of services. The original contribution of this paper lies in the development of a sector-specific simulation model that combines Leontief production functions with service quality scoring to forecast electricity price trajectories from 2024 to 2038. The paper introduces a novel analogy with telecommunications deregulation to frame expectations for market transformation and consumer outcomes and applies weighted performance indicators to quantify service quality across different deregulation scenarios.
