MONITORING OF DATA ON PLANTINGS DAMAGED BY FOREST FIRES IN THE TERRITORY OF THE TYUMEN REGION FOREST FUND

Today, Russia is considered the main leader with large areas of forest plantations. More than 20% of all forests are located directly in the Russian Federation. Wildfires pose a huge threat to all forest ecosystems, human life and the population itself. Usually all fires start in spring, rarely in autumn. Over the period of 2023, about four million hectares of forests were destroyed by forest fires. In May of this year, fires were recorded in seventy regions of the country. In summer, the area of fires increased 43 times, in 2022, during the same period, fires were 2.6 times less and amounted to about 270 hectares of forest.
