An efficiency optimization and dynamic performance enhancement method for wireless energy transmission systems with asymmetric LCC-LCC compensated networks

Wireless power transfer (WPT) systems operate with loads and power demands that may change, which affects the stability of the system. In this paper, finite-control-set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) is applied to triple phase shift (TPS) control to achieve efficiency optimization and dynamic performance improvement. Firstly, an FCS-MPC method with adaptive iterative approach, nonlinear step size and normalized multi-objective cost function is proposed to achieve synergistic optimization on stability, rapidity and controller computational load of WPT system. Secondly, system efficiency with control parameters are modeled, the zero voltage switch (ZVS) condition of the bilateral converter is analyzed, and the impedance matching method under the ZVS is proposed to achieve the efficiency improvement. Finally, model validation shows that the proposed control strategy reduces the time required for the return to steady state to 25% and 75% compared with the traditional FCS-MPC control and PI control, and produces little overshooting. In addition efficiency is improved of 2.86% on average across a wide power range, which proves effectiveness of proposed scheme.
