Optimized Tariff Structures with Incentive-based Pricing for Demand-Side Management in Smart Grids
Electricity pricing is critical for ensuring fair charges, conserving energy, and keeping power companies financially viable. This paper proposes a new pricing structure that employs incentives, calculations, and smart technologies to encourage consumers to use less electricity and divide their energy consumption more equitably. The concept uses demand-side management (DSM) to encourage consumers to utilize power during off-peak hours, thereby increasing grid efficiency and reducing peak demand periods. Python-based simulations are used to examine the effectiveness of this new pricing structure using real electricity usage data. These tests look at how the increased rates influence customer behavior, power grid performance, and cost savings. The study also incorporates extensive data analysis and research from past studies to back up its findings. Graphs are used to demonstrate how different sorts of customers may be affected by the increased pricing. The findings indicate that a well-planned pricing scheme can help save electricity, improve the power grid's operation, and encourage more people to participate in energy-saving programs. This research contributes to ongoing efforts to establish cheap and sustainable electricity rates that benefit both customers and power corporations.
