Un nuevo ‘status quaestionis’ sobre el ‘Contra Faustum’

Augustinian studies continue to be one of the most stimulating fields of research within Patristics. With this article, we aim to assess the direction of the research conducted so far on Faustus, the Manichaean Bishop, and especially on Augustine of Hippo’s Contra Faustum Manichaeum. We will pay particular attention to the studies focused on the Christological elements present in the Contra Faustum. Based on an approach that considers the discoveries of direct Manichaean sources and the major milestones in the History of research on North African Manichaeism, we will attempt to offer a new status quaestionis that may help identify potential areas of research regarding doctrinal topics, such as the Christology within Augustine’s response.
