Rethinking Subjection

This symposium takes up recent debates, problems, and questions which contend with the varied forms of subjection and possible responses to it. As such, we situate these conversations within the realm of political imagination and possible emancipatory futures through research across political science. By bringing questions of subjection to bear on international relations, political philosophy, and Latin American political thought, the goal of the symposium is to move current conversations surrounding subjection forward by centering novel research in eco-feminist thought, political exit, and the interpretive innovations of Latin American political thought.

Abstract

This symposium takes up recent debates, problems, and questions which contend with the varied forms of subjection and possible responses to it. As such, we situate these conversations within the realm of political imagination and possible emancipatory futures through research across political science. By bringing questions of subjection to bear on international relations, political philosophy, and Latin American political thought, the goal of the symposium is to move current conversations surrounding subjection forward by centering novel research in eco-feminist thought, political exit, and the interpretive innovations of Latin American political thought.
