Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma of the Breast – A Rare Case Report
A BSTRACT Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) of the breast is very rare, constituting < 0.1% of all breast cancers. ACC breast is usually triple negative. Interestingly, it has been shown to farewell with very low recurrence rates in contrast to other triple-negative breast malignancies. Surgery by lumpectomy or simple mastectomy is the standard of care. Adjuvant radiotherapy is recommended after lumpectomy. The role of chemotherapy is doubtful. We here present a rare case of ACC breast managed by surgery and adjuvant chemotherapy and radiation.
