The Interplay of Religion and Politics in India: An Analytical Study
India, the world's largest democracy, is a land of diverse religions, languages, cultures, and castes. The relationship between religion and politics here is centuries old, evolving in many forms over time. This research paper presents a detailed analysis of the mutual influence of religion and politics, their historical, social, and constitutional interpretations, and their relationship in the modern political landscape. It attempts to clarify how religion is used to gain popular support, create polarization, and gain power in politics, and its impact on society. It also highlights historical events, constitutional provisions, electoral politics, religious polarization, and the concept of secularism.
