(Re)formulaciones de la monstruosidad y el aislamiento en «Et vaig donar ulls i vas mirar les tenebres»

Solà gathers from the Catalan popular tradition the elements with which they construct a story full of beasts, through a house and over time, narrating the isolation of its inhabitants and the relationship that these women establish with the devil in all its forms and its effects. Although the play of deformities is a common element in many stories, present us with the violence to which non-normative and dissident bodies are subjected in many past —and present— contexts. The home being at the same time both an element of protection and of castration of the subjects who inhabit it and, starting from the indiscriminate mutilation and the monstrification of the Norm over the subjects, this text will address the affective and fantastic elements and the mutability of the memory, as well as the possibilities that isolation can offer, understood as a space for experimenting with alterities and for changing the paradigm of the feminine monster in the time frame covered by the novel.
