«Otros tiempos, otras crueldades». Monstruosidad y represión policial en Griselda Gambaro (1927) Y Mariana Enriquez (1978)
In this article we will analyse the stories «Nosferatu» by Griselda Gambaro and «El monstruo» by Mariana Enriquez, with the aim of exploring representations of the monstrous in relation to social violence and police repression. Through the figure of the vampire in Gambaro and the devouring underwater monster in Enriquez, metaphors for power and control emerge. These monstrous creatures, whether victims or perpetrators, symbolise the latent presence of oppression in society and the ways in which authority consumes its victims, reflecting dynamics of terror and submission.
