The article considers the trends in the development of youth tourism. The definition of "youth tourism" as a socio-economic phenomenon and a promising sector of the global tourism market is considered. The main types of youth tourism in the context of modern tourism services are described. The relevance of the study is due to the growing interest in youth tourism. These factors emphasize the need for an in-depth study of youth tourism from both theoretical and practical points of view. The theoretical substantiation of the category "youth tourism" in the socio-economic context is carried out, and prospects for further study of this phenomenon are proposed, which makes a significant contribution to the development of tourism theory. Youth tourism combines the possibilities of satisfying various leisure needs and socialization of participants. The main goal of this type of tourism is the comprehensive development of young people, improving their psychophysical condition and organizing rational leisure. The concept of "youth tourism" covers tourism activities aimed primarily at meeting the needs of people under 30 years of age. The main criteria for belonging to youth tourism are the age of the participants and the common goals of the holiday. Youth tourism is considered as an important element of the functioning of the entire tourism industry and youth social policy in modern socio-economic conditions. Within the framework of youth tourism, mainly active types of tourism are distinguished: entertainment, education, culture, adventure, sports. Youth tourism is considered one of the most promising types of tourism in the world, in connection with which the article examines modern world trends in youth tourism.
