The effect of concurrent training on some biochemical variables and certain skill abilities among junior tennis players

This study aimed to identify the effect of concurrent training, which combines strength and endurance exercises, on selected biochemical variables such as creatine kinase enzyme (CK), lactic acid, and glucose, as well as certain skill abilities including forehand and backhand stroke repetition among junior tennis players. The researcher employed the experimental one-group (pre-test/post-test) design to achieve the objectives of the study. A concurrent training program was implemented for the experimental group over a period of 8 weeks, with three training sessions per week. The results showed statistically significant differences in favor of the post-tests across all studied variables, indicating the effectiveness of concurrent training in improving both biochemical markers and skill abilities in tennis players. The researcher recommends adopting concurrent training as an effective method for enhancing physical and skill performance levels in tennis player development programs, especially at early age stages.
