Rheological Properties of Resin Films Incorporating Polymethacrylates with Ureylene Functional Groups
The association and dissociation of intra- and intermolecular hydrogen bonds can influence the apparent molecular weight at different temperatures, thereby regulating the viscoelastic properties of materials. In this study, we explored this concept for industrial applications to improve the gap-filling performance of resin films. Ureylene-functionalized polymers were designed and incorporated into photosensitive dry films or adhesive films. The ureylene functional groups can form hydrogen bonds that dissociate at elevated temperatures (processing temperatures) to enhance processability and gap-filling performance, while the reformed hydrogen bonds at ambient temperatures (working temperatures) ensure mechanical stability.
