Non-toxic wood-polymer compositions based on modified amino-formaldehyde resins
The production technology of non-toxic wood-polymer compositions is considered with the example of lined wood-particle boards using amino-formaldehyde resin as a binder in combination with an AF-2 formaldehyde acceptor. A detailed description and properties of the AF-2 formaldehyde acceptor and the properties of the KF-MT-15B carbamide resin selected as the binder base are given. The process of obtaining paper-resin films made using an impregnating modified amino-formaldehyde resin is described. A salt of lactic acid was used as a modifier- catalyst in the synthesis of impregnating amino-formaldehyde resins. This modification makes it possible to obtain impregnating resins with high quality indicators, low content of free formaldehyde, and also significantly reduces the amount of expensive melamine. The physical-mechanical properties of the resulting lined wood boards, given in the article, indicate the absolute effectiveness of the modifying additive AF-2 in the production of non-toxic wood-polymer compositions both a hardener and a formaldehyde acceptor.
