Optimal sizing and Techno-economic Analysis of a PV/Battery system based on Multi-Objective Particle Swarm Optimization (MOPSO): case study of the Kankan Rural Radio relay station, Dabadou site, Republic of Guinea
The use of stand-alone PV/battery systems for the production of electrical energy is becoming increasingly common in developing countries. The cost and losses of energy production are challenges for these types of systems. The aim of this work is to find an optimal configuration of the system composed by PV array, battery bank and inverter while ensuring a reliable and cost-effective electricity supply for the rural radio relay of Kankan in Dabadou, Republic of Guinea, located in an area isolated from the national grid.To achieve this, multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) was proposed. Two objective functions were exploited, namely minimization of the loss of power supply probability (LPSP) as a reliability criterion and minimization of the levelized cost of energy (LCOE) as a Optimal sizing
