EMOTIONAL CHARACTERISTICS AND FEATURES OF SELF-REGULATION OF INDIVIDUALS DEPENDENT ON PSYCHOACTIVE SUBSTANCES
The problem of dependence on psychoactive substances is quite widespread in modern society. The article briefly presents the results of studying the emotional sphere and self-regulation of individuals dependent on alcohol and drugs and undergoing rehabilitation at the Sansara centre in Ulyanovsk. The following questionnaires were chosen as methodological tools: “Char- acteristics of Emotionality” by E. P. Ilyin and “Questionnaire of Volitional Self-control” by A. G. Zverkova and E. V. Eidman. The Mann-Whitney statistical criterion was used to process the data. As a result of the study, it was found that the level of persistence, self-control and volitional self- regulation is significantly higher in alcohol-dependent subjects; drug-dependent subjects express emotions more intensely and for a longer time due to various physiological changes in the body.
