Geomorphological And Sedimentological Characterization of a Beach with A Stable Coastline in the Middle Part of Cöte D'ivoire Coastline: The Case of Jacqueville Beach
In order to better monitor the erosive crises facing the central part of the Ivorian coastline, this study was initiated with the aim of highlighting the geomorphological and sedimentological characteristics of Jacqueville beach. The methodologies used were topographic profile surveys and sedimentological analyzes (granulometry and morphoscopy).A total of 6 beach profiles were surveyed and 18 surface samples were taken from 3 profiles (P1, P3 and P5) for sedimentological analysis.Analysis of beach morphology shows beaches that are more eroded than enriched, with steep (10% < P 20%) to very steep (P > 20%) slopes and a stable coastline. The spatial distribution of granulometric parameters shows that the sands in this sector vary from coarse to very coarse, moderately classified to well classified with a granulometric symmetry from west to east of the sample to an asymmetry towards fine and coarse elements. This distribution shows an increasing grading from West to East. The grain size facies is of the sigmoid type, characteristic of a sigmoid or hyperbolic facies.Morphoscopic analysis reveals quartz grains that are predominantly sub-rounded
