Chemical composition and pharmaco-biological properties of the different organs of Momordica Charantia L

A lot of scientific research has been devoted to the properties of traditional herbal medicines in recent decades.Momordica Charantia L., known as bitter melon of the Cucurbitaceae family, is a plant used in Asia, Africa and South America to treat skin diseases, fatigue, stomach ache, malaria, mouth ulcers, gangrenous wounds, gastric ulcers, hemorrhoids, tuberculosis, anemia, kidney disorders and vomiting in the tradition. In the leaves, fruits, seeds of Momordica Charantia L. are found several vitamins, micronutrients, minerals and metals such as water, lead, copper, cobalt, calcium, magnesium, iron, manganese, potassium, sodium, zinc, phosphorus.Momordica Charantia (bitter melon) can be prepared by various methods (maceration, infusion, decoction) with various solvents (water, ethanol, methanol etc.) for the extraction of its bioactive compounds.Qualitative phytochemical analysis of Momordica Charantia L. extracts showed the presence of compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, saponins, glycosides, terpenoids, sterols, polysaccharides, anthocyanins, phenolic compounds and mucilages. Many molecules found in the different organs of Momordica Charantia L. give this plant antibiotic, antipyretic, anti-cholesterol, anti-dementia, antihypolipidemic, anti-hypotension,
