Antibiotic susceptibility profile of Klebsiella pneumoniae strains isolated from urine culture from at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Pédiatrique Charles de Gaulle in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso
Klebsiella. pneumoniae is an enterobacterium of the KESH group (Klebsiella, Enterobacter, Serratia, Hafnia), which is of great importance in hospital clinics.According to the WHO, antibiotic resistance constitutes one of the greatest threats to health, food security and development. The study aimed to assess the antibiotic susceptibility of Klebsiella pneumoniae strains isolated in urine from 2014 to 2018 at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Pdiatrique Charles de Gaulle (CHUP-CDG).A crosssectional study with a descriptive aim running from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2018 was conducted at the CHUP-CDG in Ouagadougou. We carried out a census of cases of Klebsiella.pneumoniae recorded at the Biomedical Laboratory of the CHUP-CDG.In total, 8489 urine samples have been analyzed, of which, 185 (2.18%) were Antibiotic.
