Self‐Healing Superhydrophobic Coatings Based on Fluorinated Polydopamine‐Zinc Ion‐Graphene Oxide Hybrid: Design and Anticorrosive Applications
In this work, zinc ions were added to graphene oxide (GO) after it had been modified with polydopamine (PDA). After that, the substance was reacted with 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorodecanethiol (PFDT) to produce a two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterial that was hydrophobic. To create self-healing superhydrophobic anticorrosive coatings on AZ31B magnesium alloy, the synthesized nanomaterial was combined with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and applied using a straightforward spray technique. The water contact angle (WCA) was 158.02° ± 2°, and it remained superhydrophobic even after being immersed in strong acidic or alkaline solutions, sandpaper abrasion, and tape peeling. The polarization resistance (Rp) value was 1.65 × 108 Ω cm2, which was seven orders of magnitude better than that of magnesium alloy. After 14 days of 3.5% NaCl immersion, the Rp value of the coating was still 0.97 × 106 Ω cm2. The coating also has good self-healing capability, antifouling, and self-cleaning abilities.
