Une lecture chirurgicale de « Feuilles d’hôpital »
Are the worlds of surgery and poetry compatible? Or at least something in common? How can these two activities coexist in the same person? These questions arise immediately on reading the biography of Lorand Gaspar, a surgeon who practiced medicine and surgery in Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Tunis until 1970, but also a recognized poet who has been the subject of several theses and essays. A careful reading of “Feuilles d'Hôpital” (Hospital Leaves), in which Lorand Gaspar recounts his work as a surgeon, provides an answer to these questions.
