Third-order aberrations and design method of anamorphic optical systems using the biconic surface

This paper derives the third-order aberration theory for the biconic surface, presents analytical expressions for the third-order aberration coefficients of anamorphic optical systems based on the biconic surface, and proposes qhat we believe to be a new design method for anamorphic optical systems. This method provides an effective approach for the design of compact systems.

Abstract

This paper derives the third-order aberration theory for the biconic surface, presents analytical expressions for the third-order aberration coefficients of anamorphic optical systems based on the biconic surface, and proposes qhat we believe to be a new design method for anamorphic optical systems. This method provides an effective approach for the design of compact systems.
