Influence of atmospheric conditions on the dynamics of the COVID-19 pandemic
Hundreds of articles by foreign scientists are devoted to the problem of the influence of atmospheric conditions on the results of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the vast majority of studies were carried out in the time interval not exceeding two weeks from the moment of the action of the meteorological factor to the moment of fixing the fact of the patient’s disease or death. In order to eliminate the lack of knowledge about processes occurring outside the studied time range, the author studied the impact of atmospheric conditions on the dynamics of the COVID-19 pandemic during the previous year and longer in various regions of the world. Based on the data on morbidity and mortality of residents of Moscow, New York and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra during the first wave of the pandemic and data on the climatic parameters of the previous period from 365 to 419 days, a correlation analysis of the dependencies of morbidity and mortality of the population on the average daily values of atmospheric air temperature, atmospheric conditions have a significant impact on pandemic outcomes at least one year before the first cases or deaths are reported.
