A study on the spatial accessibility of home-based elderly service centers

This paper proposed a method to calculate the accessibility of home-based senior care service centers (HBSCSC) by using population classification and refining the distribution of the population according to the residential build-ings. Based on the spatial data of the buildings and the demographic data, the spatialization of the elderly population was realized, and through the data of the traffic road network and the shortest path analysis, the traffic time matri-ces of the neighborhoods arriving at HBSCSC by walking and by car are ob-tained, and lastly, the accessibility of the HBSCSC is calculated by using the E2SFCA Finally, using the E2SFCA method, the accessibility of the home care service center was calculated. The calculation results show that: due to the uneven distribution density of the elderly population, Hexi District is divided into three regions from south to north, the south and north are more densely populated, and their walking accessibility is poorer, while the central part of the inability to accessibility is better; relatively, the door-to-door service accessibility of HBSCSC is worse than the walking accessibility on the whole, which is related to the larger population covered by the door-to-door service.
