Network planning design and simulation for SMEs
With the rapid development of the global economy and the burgeoning rise of emerging businesses, the demands of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for network architecture are continuously increasing. Enterprises are placing greater emphasis on network security, scalability, high performance, and cost-effectiveness. This paper provides an overview of various commonly used networking technologies, such as VLAN for network isolation and resource management, MSTP for optimizing redundant links to enhance network stability, Link Aggregation (Eth-Trunk) for increasing bandwidth and redundancy, VRRP for providing gateway redundancy to avoid single points of failure, WLAN for supporting mobile offices and wireless device connectivity, NAT for efficient utilization of private IP addresses, and VPN for ensuring secure and private remote access. The paper proposes a network architecture that meets the modern needs of SMEs while remaining adaptable to future technological advancements, validated through simulation using the Huawei ENSP simulator.
