Advanced WLAN indoor positioning system for mobile communication terminals: methodologies and testing framework
The escalating demand for indoor navigation and location-based services has rendered the development of precise and efficient indoor positioning systems increasingly critical. This paper introduces a state-of-the-art Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) based indoor positioning system designed for mobile communication terminals. The system is engineered to harness advanced algorithms and a robust testing methodology to ensure high precision and reliability across diverse indoor scenarios. A comprehensive analysis of the system's performance is presented, emphasizing its potential to significantly enhance location-based services. The study includes an evaluation of the system's compatibility with 802.11-based positioning, its Time-To-First-Fix (TTFF), and its horizontal positioning accuracy under various directional tests. The results demonstrate the system's effectiveness in providing rapid and accurate positioning, which is vital for improving user experience in indoor environments.
